Awarded a college photojournalism scholarship in 2007,
Kathryn Chandler continues her professional photography classes and seminars. She served a year as a staff photographer for the Palomar College newspaper, The Telescope.
Her photography has shown at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve Annual Art and Education Exhibition in 2006 and 2007. Currently, her work is part of an ongoing educational exhibit at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve Visitor's Center, Cleveland National Forest. Additionally, her photography contributes to the Visitor Center display at the Idyllwild Ranger Station, San Bernardino National Forest. Her winning photography was selected for display at the Borrego Art Institute Gallery, Borrego Springs, in conjunction with the 2008 Second Annual Anza-Borrego Desert Photo Contest.
Based in San Diego, she enjoys California's varied environments, from oak woodland to cactus desert to Pacific Coast forest to sandy shore. She specializes in photographing natural scenery, plant life, wild birds and animals.
